Event Details

Are you an Art Docent teaching art in the schools? Join the Frye Art Museum and ArtsEd Washington for an evening of arts and advocacy! Enjoy a sneak peek of upcoming exhibitions Cauleen Smith: Give It or Leave It and Jane Wong: After Preparing the Altar, the Ghosts Feast Feverishly. Heavy appetizers and drinks will be provided.

ArtsEd Washington Executive Director Danielle Gahl will offer a free training, taking you through our current ‘State of the Arts’ in Washington schools and outlining ways to make art activism quick, easy, and impactful. You will learn tools and techniques for making an advocacy pitch and emerge with the confidence to speak up and make a difference in your community. Lynn Chou, Frye Art Museum Manager of Youth and School Programs, will share teaching resources, art project ideas, and lesson plans, while providing guidance for facilitating open-ended discussions and leading student-centered art lessons.

The event is free but capacity is limited; please let us know you plan to attend by registering at the ticketing link.
