The Crocodile Presents: Alice Boman - @ FREMONT ABBEY
Event Details
Alice Boman - www.aliceboman.com
“Where To Put The Pain” arrives alongside a video directed by Isak Berglund Mattsson-Mårn, which finds Alice swimming in freezing cold Stockholm water. Boman explains: “This song is about dealing with difficult emotions and worries and different kinds of pain. In a world where a lot of things are feeling hopeless and bad things are happening it sometimes gets a bit overwhelming. Sometimes to the point of feeling numb. How do you find a balance in that?”
“Where To Put The Pain” follows her acclaimed collaboration with Perfume Genius “Feels Like A Dream,” which The FADER called "languid and hauntingly romantic,” and previous album singles “Maybe” (via FLOOD Magazine) and "Night and Day.” These songs mark first new music since the release of her critically acclaimed 2020 debut LP, Dream On, which earned praise from The New York Times, The FADER (20 best rock songs), Billboard, Gorilla vs Bear, Loud & Quiet (9/10 stars), Uncut, Mojo, and more.
Boman has been thinking about space a lot lately. The silence between sounds, the unspoken bonds between humans, the enormity of the universe and her place within it. It can all get a little overwhelming at times if she’s honest, but whenever it does there’s always music. “Writing is still a way for me to understand myself,” Boman explains. “As an overthinker, there’s this constant motion in my head, so it helps to sit down and write about it to actually understand what I feel or think. Or just to find stillness.” - Artist Bio
